Advancing quality control with 360° view lenses technology
Need addressed: ensuring reliable, high-speed quality control of ladyfingers by automatically measuring critical parameters and detecting visual and structural defects directly on the production line.
Ensuring the quality and consistency of baked products is essential in modern food manufacturing, where high throughput and strict quality standards leave little room for manual inspection. Even small variations in dimensions, appearance, or structural integrity can impact product quality and production efficiency.
To overcome these challenges, Opto Engineering® and Vision Solution developed an automated machine vision solution for the 100% inspection of ladyfingers directly on the production line. Leveraging industrial imaging technologies, dedicated optics, and intelligent image processing algorithms, the system performs real-time measurements and defect detection with high accuracy and repeatability.
The solution verifies critical parameters including size, shape, alignment, and color uniformity, while identifying cracks, deformations, and structural defects that could compromise product quality. The result is a reliable, high-speed inspection system that helps manufacturers maintain consistent quality standards, minimize production waste, and increase operational efficiency.

ITALA G.EL.IP wins Vision Systems Design Innovators Award 2026

New ITALA Firmware (v3.3.0) is now available: enhanced autofocus, higher robustness, broader compatibility
The new ITALA firmware v3.3.0, together with the updated User Manual v1.18, is now available for download.
This release introduces major enhancements to autofocus capabilities, communication reliability, streaming performance, and system robustness. It also expands compatibility with liquid lens technologies, enabling greater flexibility for machine vision applications.

🔵 Corning Varioptic Lens Autofocus Compatibility
ITALA G.EL and ITALA G.EL.IP cameras now support autofocus operation with Corning Varioptic liquid lenses, in addition to existing Optotune compatibility. This expands the range of supported autofocus solutions and opens new application opportunities.

A new iterative golden-section search algorithm significantly improves autofocus performance by providing:

HMI Designer: create custom operator interfaces in OEVIS
HMI Designer is a built-in OEVIS feature that allows users to design and customize their application's front-end interface. Accessible directly from the Job panel toolbar, it provides an intuitive environment for creating HMI layouts.
